Cozy Kitchen: 4 Must-Haves for Your Breakfast Nook

Deciding to remodel your kitchen is just the first step. You still have to consider the kinds of updates your kitchen may need, and you have to pay attention to the kitchen’s overall look. The following are four must-haves to ensure that your kitchen is designed to ease your mornings just a bit.

Sunny Morning

One of the best additions to consider when remodeling your kitchen is to add floor to ceiling windows by the nook. The reason you want to do this is to let a little more sunlight in and expand the view from your breakfast nook. You may not think this is going to make a big difference, but it may help bring your breakfast nook’s overall look together.

Wondrous Chandelier

The nook is a cute little area that you can make into a full-on accent. There are a few ways you can do this, but one way that will definitely impress is a chandelier. Keep in mind that this area is meant to be small, so do not go overboard with the size of your adornment. Try to stick to the overall color of the breakfast nook to maintain uniformity.

Cup of Joe

Be sure to consider adding a little coffee bar where you can prepare your coffee without getting in anyone’s way. You normally need a few tools to make coffee, but at least now it can all look tidy and kind of cool. The bar can have a vintage look or a more modern look as long as it fits with the nook’s overall look. Buy yourself some coffee as well from a provider like 11th Street Coffee or someone similar.

Decorative Accent

The last thing you may want to consider is adding some ceiling art. This does not mean you have to paint your walls and let your imagination go wild though you can if you choose to. This means simply installing a few additional accents to your nook. For example, you can add decorative ceiling medallions. These are thin decorative additions to the walls or ceilings that easily blend into one of these.

You may want to consider talking to an interior decorator about some of these ideas to see if you are on the right path. Be sure to stay open-minded about the suggestions your interior designer offers. Remember to take your time with these new updates to make sure you are happy with the changes being made.
